Reliable Source of Concerta ER 18 mg Tablet is a central nervous system stimulant drug that is used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children and adolescents. ADHD is a behavioral disorder characterized by poor concentration, hyperactivity, and learning difficulties. Concerta is similar in function to amphetamine, but milder in nature. Unlike other ADHD medications, Concerta is not a monoamine oxidase inhibitor or an opiate.

The medication is designed to release the active ingredient, methylphenidate, gradually throughout the day to provide a consistent level of medication in the body. [2] reported that several studies have been conducted to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Concerta 18mg. The 3rd study was a parallel group comparison in which patients were randomized to Concerta 18mg (doses of either 18, 36 or 54 mg/day), immediate-release Concerta 18mg or placebo for 28 days. In a 4th study, adolescents aged 13-18 years, receiving Concerta 18mg doses of 18, 36, 54 or 72 mg/day were randomized into a 2-week placebo-controlled trial. These studies have shown that Concerta is effective in reducing the symptoms of ADHD in children and adolescents.
